The proposed Multi-purpose Primary Hall is to be constructed on the site of an existing netball court. The hall will be used for primary school assemblies, drama activities, as well as sports including netball and basketball.

The building is to be air conditioned to cater for Rockhampton's tropical summers, but is also designed to perform well with natural ventilation when prevailing conditions permit. Natural lighting is promoted by the use of high level and corner panel shaded glass, and translucent roofing panels.

Variety to the external facades of the building will be provided using light and shade from solar control panels and louvers, as well as a carefully selected palette of colours and materials to external finishes.
